HPSDR - Atlas - the backplane

The Atlas is a passive backplane that all other modules plug into. The circuit board has provision for up to six DIN41612 connectors at 0.8 inch spacing. An ATX 20 pin power connector is fitted to the board so that 12v, 5v, 3.3v etc. supplies from a standard PC power supply can be used to power the HPSDR. Since such power supplies are in plentiful supply, both new and surplus, this neatly solves the power supply requirements. Atlas Backplane PCB

The printed circuit board for the Atlas backplane.

Why are the parts kit and the PCB sold separately? Because there were 400 PCB out there already before TAPR's involvement, there were hundreds of people who wanted the parts without the PCB. Therefore the PCB is separate from the parts kit and you must order one of each to have a complete backplane unless you already have the PCB or you want to shop for the parts on your own.

If you had previously indicated interest in the second run of the PCB at http://www.hamsdr.org, you will still need to place your order here. The order will not be transferred automatically.
